BY-LAWS of the SWISS-AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HOUSTON
PREAMBLE
The Society shall be named SWISS-AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HOUSTON (a non-profit organization).
ARTICLE I
Purpose and Aim
The purpose and aim of this society shall be to promote friendship, co-operation and entertainment among Swiss nationals, people of Swiss decent, and friends of Switzerland, who are 18 years of age or older.
ARTICLE II
Membership
The members of this society may consist of Swiss nationals, people of Swiss decent and friends of Switzerland, who are 18 years of age or older.
ARTICLE III
Dues
The dues shall be set by the officers for each calender year.
ARTICLE IV
Directors
The directors of the society shall be elected form the past presidents of the society and the officers of the society as to have a total membership of the Board Of Directors of no less than five persons. The directors shall be elected by a majority of of the members in good standing at the annual meeting and shall hold office for a term of one year or until their successors are elected and qualified.
All members in good standing shall be notified at least 10 days in advance of the meeting as to the time and the place of such meeting. |
